So long summer

Summer days are nearing an end. Actually, they're near done. I'm not sad. No I won't miss the humidity. I have to admit it's glorious weather in Westchester, NY -- somewhat like the kind of weather I'm used to and I'm lovin' it (no I'm not referring to a McDonald's meal, although I've still got a weak spot for fries and or a soft serve ice cream). What I've realized is that because it feels like summer's leaving, I don't want it to go, and especially when it just started to get nice. I guess I can't say I'm really in denial about the changing of seasons (in fact I'm egging winter on!) when I went on a shopping spree at Century 21 for winter gear: 2 pairs of long johns, (yes I'm aware that I'm about the only 24 year old girl in the state of NY who will admit to wearing them)(will anyone confirm whether it's only Californians who migrate here that do wear them, fearing the cold?), gloves, and a scarf! Darn, back at home, I can't get away with wearing a hat and not feel like a poser. Well I must embrace the only constant: the inconstancy of everything. In other words, suck it up.

When winter comes around, you'll be laughing at all of us while you're nice and toasty in your long johns:)

Also, only thing better than soft serve ice cream? Soft serve dipped in that cherry stuff that hardens over top. So sugary and fakey and not even cherry-tasting, but so close to my heart...
