Charlie Chan is Dead

Has anyone seen the Gremlins? Remember the old man who gives the white kids the mogwai? Does that strike anyone as similar to the ladies in the new Freaky Friday with Lindsay Lohan?

In a recent class, I was quite disappointed that a character was portrayed like none other than the kind of racial stereotype aforementioned. I guess I just had higher expectations. I had higher expectations of my classmates, my professor, my so called liberal arts college community. This experience was pathetic and heartbreaking.
