Misanthrope -- that's me.

This was our week of concerts. We foresaw burnout and general disgust by the end of it, and we were right. We had fun, in the beginning, I even learned of two new bands (Cut Copy and Matt Pond PA), that I really like, but last night was just painful. Ever heard of Stars of Montreal? They opened for Death Cab, and it was as if we were watching an SNL skit, where the bandmembers are old, mismatched, and terrible sounding, and to top it off ironically dramatic, only this band, was doing it for real. (I'm not sure about the review, but the picture should speak volumes!)

I love the sun! *

*in moderate doses of course

I'm thinking when the winter comes, I will buy a happy lamp, you know, a dual purpose lamp the kind for plants that simulates sun light indoors. So it will keep my plants and me happy :). Only thing is it costs quite a pretty penny for this kind of simulation ;* (

Oompa Loompa Duppety Doo

Oompa Loompa Duppety Doo, I've got a small kitchen and that's not my fault. What do you do when you spill the soy . . . sauce. Crowding the cabinet is always the . . . cost. What do you do when you want it to stop, but you don't have a mop. That's when you get your boyfriend to swiffer and then you don't have to suffer.

I Confess, I'm Shopaholic

Alex says I should go to Shopaholics Anonymous. Is there such a thing? So I found this but it's not like I'm that bad.

Rain Rain Go Away

Luckily last weekend, Sunday was dry, for the most part, and we were able to soldier on with our plan -- the Autumnal Extravaganza at Hodgson's Farm! It was most delightful chillin' with friends and by chillin' I mean picking pumpkins, drinking cider, getting lost/ trudging through the corn maze, even getting chased by llamas, particularly the one named Trish. Yes loads of fun. (We almost went to a Civil War reenactment, but it was "rained out" so maybe next time.) This weekend however is looking a bit dismal. Though maybe (crossing my fingers) it will get better come the latter part of it, sorta like last week when our sink was clogged and our super pulled out "the monster" (aka. 60 years worth of hair) and spent two days wrestling with it in our bathroom. This week it's the bedroom window leaking. I swear I'd like to give the people above us a piece of my mind! Last year rain came through their ac unit and leaked into our wall and this year it's the same thing. Arggh. Maybe when the sun comes out again (come on sun, come out and play and don't stay away till May) things will be better ;/

On the subject of avocadoes . . .

Alex says it's not the avocado's fault but the knife's, I guess the problem was really just me. So I tried to stab the pit of an avocado to remove it but of course I just ended up piercing my palm through the avocado. Yeah I know, pretty stupid move.
